It Was A BIG Day ... Game Day & Race Day

Our day started with 4 in the bed at 5am for the Rugby World Cup Final

By 9am I was at the start line with this awesome friend . . . for Race Day

We ran
We jogged
We walked
We made it to the bridge with OODLES of time to spare

I have loved the race lead up series with my friends
#friendswhotraintogether

However, you can train and prepare all you want ...
But when you hit that wall, it's all mind over matter!
As I hit my brick wall and I felt like I was dying from the pain, I came around the corner to see this beautiful sight ... Chelsea Sugar Works and Chelsea Bay, MY sacred spot and it was at that point I knew that nothing life throws at me could be as hard as what this spot means to me.

Coming around the corner and seeing my little girl on the side lines cheering my friends and I on ... So special

The later stages can be an ugly fight between your mind and your body.  Your mind will keep telling your body to run, whilst your body will start to give up.  They will keep fighting until neither have the energy to fight any longer.
This is when your heart must step and convince both your mind and your body to keep going.
That's why after a suggestion this morning I am changing my hashtag #catgetshealthy to #catgetsstronger . . . Stronger mind, stronger body and the strongest of hearts.

So much was achieved yesterday ... From Rugby to Running ...
But for me the best bit, the most encouraging bit, the bit that filled my heart ...
My children watching my friends and I all cross the finish line, then followed by some of their school friends, resulted in: ... "Mama can we do it with you next year PLEASE" ...

Ummmm yup let Mama recover from today and we can discuss 5km next year ...

Messages of motivational encouragement from the people who knew how much the day meant to me .. .. ..
Know that your words become the psychological anchor I held onto so tightly
Thank You

Well done you. Just been catching up on everything and it looks like it's been a good time (holiday), sad time (injury) but promising time (new goals). Keep moving forward and keep chasing dreams (new and old). xx
