Twenty six years ago I was told by a well meaning male I'd never get anywhere in life if I was fat.
That one comment began my battle with a healthy food/mind/body image .. .. ..
Enter Anorexia and Bulimia into my life.

Three months ago I sat in a pub and another well meaning male announced I was borderline acceptable fat.

The difference between 14 year old me and 41 year old me is I now have a daughter who'd already noticed Mama skipped meals.
That comment whilst hurtful AND 2014 being the year of pneumonia, glandular fever and adrenal fatigue kickstarted my #catgetshealthy hashtag as seen on Instagram
This morning I reached my first weight loss goal.
A loss of 10kg.
I've gone down a size and a half in clothing.

And I'm proud of my effort. My daughter (and my son) sees a healthy Mama who eats well.
We all eat real food, clean eating and what's more Miss P helps me prepare meals, making our morning smoothie together is fun and exciting.
And she knows Mama goes to the gym to be strong and fit.

Brilliant, well done. These comments, though hurtful, are often a good trigger for change. Keep up the good work and set your daughter a great example to live by. Joy x x
good for you - I can't believe that people would make comments like that - so weird. I've always thought you were gorgeous! xx
Welcome back to blog land Cat. I've missed reading your posts. I hope this year is full of wonderful things and good health for you all.
Good for you, Cat! I am down just short of 25 pounds and I know how hard it is to lose. Right now I am lacking motivation so thanks for this post.
Hello! Nice to 'see ' you! Comments can be hurtful. Thank goodness you realise your young daughter is watching on. So many young girls are growing up thinking the only way to be accepted is to look like these models and dancers they see in the movies and music video's. We come is ALL shapes and sizes.
Go you! It is amazing what we achieve when we go for our goals! Well done you!!
Healthy is the important word, eating the right amount of the good foods will make a huge difference. I'm giving up sugar myself and getting more active too.
So pleased you are back blogging, Cat. I have missed you. Good luck with the new eating plan - it sounds good. Such a shame that people can't keep their unhelpful thoughts to themselves. A few words said thoughtlessly with echoes down the years for you. Hope you enjoyed your Christmas break in Motueka. Wishing you and your family a healthy and happy 2015.
I was pleased to see your name come up on my bloglist, Cat. Good on you for your strive for a healthy body and being a great role model for your family. Well done on your weight loss!
Go you! We must catch up with the delayed meet.
Good on you for what you have achieved and for being the role model you are to your daughter. I bet the males who said those comments aren't perfect specimens either though.
