It's Never Too Early To Learn How To Sew

I've always believed hand sewing is an important life skill to have, there will always be times when we have to hand stitch something in place or closed.

And as for our little ones, it helps to let their hands manipulate the needle and thread and gain an understanding of the thread going up and down and securing itself to the fabric whilst developing fine motor skills

Tsunamis teacher invited me to spend an afternoon in the classroom making Easter Bunnies with the girls.

Using the free pattern found on The Little Fabric Blog I pre cut the bunnies and let the girls choose the colour of bunny and thread they wanted.

Threading the needle for them, away we went.

A couple of the girls clearly understood how it all worked and were able to carefully pull the thread through the fabric from both sides. All of the girls, their minds so curious how it all worked.

Once the bunnies were hand sewn up to stuffing stage the fun began.
Witnessing their bunnies taking shape they were so proud of themselves.

Well done girls and thank you for inviting me to spend a crazy chaotic creative afternoon in your classroom . . .
