I always wanted to do a degree in Home Science and teach - I was told "there are enough teachers in this family, there will be no more" - so I went on to study and graduated as a Legal Executive (Para Legal) I worked for one of New Zealands largest law firms. I've been a Debt Collector, a Litigator, a Credit Controller, and a Credit Manager.

I like order in my life:- tins need to be stored like with like, pillows straightened before retiring to bed at night, my wardrobe is not only like with like hung it is also colour co-ordinated and all the coat hangers match and hang facing the same way.
My middle name is Helen. And that is that. I always thought of my name to be very plain and old fashioned and wished my parents had blessed me with a real trendy hippy 70's name like 'Sky', 'Saffron', 'India', 'Summer' or 'Crystal' but nope I got Helen
I have been watching Coronation Street since I was a little girl. I remember sitting and watching it with my Grandmother and Mother, and that is when Hilda Ogden was still in it
I am a descendant of convicts
At 26 my 3x Great Grandmother Anne was tried for stealing money and received 10 years PLUS deportation.
She was sent to Tasmania /Australia on the prison ship Greenlaw which departed Dublin/Ireland on the 07th March 1844. It carried 120 female convicts and 29 children convicts it arrived in Tasmania/Australia on 02nd July 1844.
I feel very fortunate I've visited the Vatican twice, (2003 & 2007) sophisticated to have eaten Pain au choclat in Paris twice (2003 & 2012), however, it is Barcelona (2007) and the Sagrada Familia that is calling my name to visit again.
I adore entertaining for my friends. It is so lovely to express caring and nurturing to those I love.

What a shame that you never got to follow your heart into teaching. Do you think you every will?
Loved these random facts :)
Cool to find out some more fun facts about you!
A Coro fan!! Wouldn't have picked that one!!
Is retraining an option?
Love the colourful family history!! And the fact that you watch Corrie!! Hee hee. I think I do remember Hilda Ogden (just!)
I love your family history.
I think its the greatest shame in the world to be told you can't do the course you want. I think your nurturing nature won out though don't you? Wish we lives in the same town sometimes hun xx
oh Saffron I love this post :o) Did you know the Sagrada Familia back face is designed by a NZer? I have a huge book on Gaudi in the shelves. I loved Barcelona SO much :o) (you know I'm calling you saffon from now on and I'm singing 'I'm just mad about Saffron...') xx

i am a barcelona/gaudi fan too and have been there several times. i love the family friendliness, that you can take your kids out to restaurants at midnight and it's fine and normal and no silly drunks to shield them from.
I thought about home ec. i got an A plus even though i burned the cake in my final exam-because i critiqued my failure so well-mental!
