As part of my mission to make a dent in my scraps and also wanting a portable sewing project to take camping - I decided to make some hexies.
My last hand sewing hexie project was MANY years ago
Originally I had no plans for these hexies, however, as they came together, in no particular order, semi randomly (as much as my OCD brain could handle) placed a cushion cover was born
I just love how small 'unusable' scraps became useable and were hand stitched together to make a colourful cushion cover

gorgeous! I'm going to post this post to my mum. She has a stash of hexies in the attic of a quilt she started in the 70s and never finished!! Might be just the project for the wild UK winter they are having.
just had my first go at making hexies a few weeks ago and loved it...although I only made a few. These are pretty.
Pretty cushion!
Its so so pretty, lots of little snips of your favourite fabrics I imagine (the dress fabric!!). This is just the thing for laying your head on to daydream, letting your eye wander among the flowers. xx

That's lovely!! what a great sized project to take on, just the right size....my last hand pieced project was tiny triangles for a bassinet quilt for my last boy. Going to pin this if that's okay? It remind me that it's another project I want to make :)
