Warp and Weft

During the weekend the kids and I decided to do a bit of weaving
And what a fantastic day we had creating and crafting together

Materials:
A homemade loom
Loom made using plans found HERE
Fabric scraps cut at 1.5" wide
Ruler

Tie on some yarn and weave on the warp threads
Twist firmly making sure tension is tight
Best done as 'team work'

Tie on first bit of fabric and start weaving
Under Over Under Over Under Over
Learning through play

Weaving - Tsunamis progress

Not only is weaving beautiful, it’s a great way to practice fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination and patterning.

Simple. Achievable. Intentional: becoming the mama I want to be

I am so doing this with Lala - I wonder if I can find a frame big enough that would make a pretty spiffy bath mat eh?

Great stuff for the kids. Looks wonderful, what are the plans for the finished article? Looks a bit like the knitting I am doing with selvages'.
